Pre-hike nerves

I hate the day before heading off on a hike! There’s so much to worry about, and every little niggly ache and pain seems to point towards some disastrous injury being on its way which will spell the end of my hike before it’s barely begun.

I’ve been through this before though, so hopefully everything will be OK once I get going.

So the tent has been checked, the hair chopped short, and flapjack baked. My rucksack is packed, just need to make sandwiches for the train journey to Taunton tomorrow.

Looking forward to getting started!

Checking the tent on Gooseholme
Well it won’t pack itself!
It’s not as heavy as it looks, honest!

Not sure the Crocs will be suitable for the South West Coast path though. Good luck and enjoy the amazing scenery.

It looks amazingly compact! Is that tent, sleeping bag, and all? You obviously have the packing down to a fine art. I still remember the fabulous survival kit you gave me when I went to Peru in 2003. Hope you have something similar. Including a mini bottle of something good!
